SALUTE TO VETERANS

HTML clipboardAmerican veterans have shown the highest form of valor, stepping forward
and committing themselves to preserving America’s freedom and protecting
the liberties of others, in order to make the world a safer place to live. These
brave men and women have set a standard of courage and idealism for the
entire world, while earning the respect and admiration of a grateful nation.

We, the beneficiaries of the tremendous courage and incredible sacrifices
made by those countless men and women who have defended our freedom,
in order to preserve and sustain America’s cherished way of life, owe respect
and a debt to Veterans that we can never fully repay.

The price for freedom is most visible in areas such as the Department of
Veterans Affairs Medical Centers.

National Salute to Veterans offers the opportunity to show appreciation in
the same caring spirit of Valentine’s Day, with which it coincides, honoring
those who have served in our armed forces and who, with the passing of
the years, are now in poor health and require special care.

Everyone is encouraged to celebrate the contributions of our Veterans
during Salute to Veterans Week February 8-14th, 2010 by visiting Veterans
sharing conversations and other acts of kindness to show appreciation to
our most noble and honorable citizens.

We must never forget the price paid for our freedoms.
